- You are the one that bought the A1200, there was the A4000 and
- the A3000 available.
- Well ok undelete the rant and go over it.

- |>1. Good and fast browsers do not exist
- Not true. Amigaguide is faster than HTML through max Vax workstation
- on a LAN. You want a billion dollar browser? at 14.4 baud?
- |>2. Graphics cards are too expensive and they are not as fast as their PC

- Too expensive? expensive. What did VGA controllers cost when CGA/EGA
- etc were the standard?
- |>3. Amigas are expensive
- The 16 megs of ram you have is your most expensive item.
- |>4. They are not that easy to upgrade. Try adding a graphics card to an A1200
- Hey, didn't I already say this, why'd you get an A1200 if you want
- expansion.
- |>5. They do not have a PCI bus
- Sorrrrie. Yes despite the millions of engineers developing amigas,
- they didn't invent time travel. What dorks.
- |>6. There is no memory protection
- Free, open and trusting. Some of us are nudists.
- |>7. Most games only run in 15 Khz mode because DBLNtsc is slow
- the intermediate-frequency modes won't survive the decade.
- |>8. Amiga games suck compared to the onse in the PC world
- I have a PC, there are a _lot_ more sucky games in DOS than
- on the amiga.
- |>9. Sound on Amigas is very poor and 16 bit cards are too expensive (14 bit
- |> is not that great)
- You complain in 2) that amigas are expensive, then you go and wish
- for expensive features. Amiga sound is vintage 1986 and its taken
- to 1994 for PC sound to surpass it (although most PC sound is still
- 8-bit sampling or speaker beeps). By not developing a new sound
- system, instead keeping the basic one (which worked) they avoid
- an expense.

- You are obviously experience in all of these facets.
- [ component list prices]
- |>5. Mini tower case: $33
- ^^^^^^^^^^^ You are going to place $1500 of equipment
- in a $10 case, with $20 worth of power-supply and parts?
- Luckily for us all the A4000/3000/2000 have as standard that
- heavy-duty power supply.
-
- Add:
- MS-DOS - $40
- Win xxx / etc to FULL version (the $70 price applies to upgrade)
- $140 (?)
-
- By the way, what brand motherboard was that for $160? Country
- of origin? (answer will be: 1)dont know,2)China (roc))
